Watch Collector - 3 years anniversary

Started my own boutique „Watch Collector“ 3 years ago and so my greatest journey got on its way at the end of 2011. It is till now my greatest challenge and I experienced the most beautiful moments of my life at this time!
Making my passion as a job is like living a dream for me and without the support of my parents and some of my closest friends I would not have gone through these 3 years. The more, the outstanding support of my clients helped me to build up my own boutique and so I am really thankful to all of the people who supported me and those who still support me on my journey!
As well I wanted to thank the watch brands I do represent in my boutique, which do produce some of the most exclusive timepieces on earth, for everything they did for me.
I wish you all a great upcoming festive season and a great time with your family and friends.

All the best.

Haas Neveux & Cie, Gübelin and Patek Philippe @ Sotheby's December 10

Here are my picks for the upcoming auction at Sotheby's December 10:

I do really like those pocket watches with minute repeater and so I do love this rare and beautiful Haas Neveux & Cie made in 1920 yellow gold case. The watch is in an overall good condition. Lot N°176, Estimated 8 000 $ - 12 000 $.

For this Haas Neveux & Cie I like the simplicity of the dial with Breguet numerals and hands. The shape of the bridges of these old pocket watch movements is something I love really much. This one was made in 1900. Lot N° 275, Estimated 2 500 $ - 3 500 $.

I like this Gübelin jumping hour made in 1935, the design of the dial and case are really beautiful. The case comes in white gold. The watch is in an overall good condition. Lot N° 178, Estimated 7 000 $ - 9 000 $.

If I would have to chose a vintage Patek Philippe timepiece, it would be the iconic 1518 even before the 2499. This one is made in 1950, arabic numerals and yellow gold case. Lot N° 115, Estimated 150 000 $ - 200 000 $.

I invite you as well to have a look at my vintage corner on my website of my boutique, some rare and beautiful timepieces are waiting there!

All the best.

Vacheron & Constantin, Haas Neveux & Cie, Patek Philippe and Rolex @ Christie's December 9

For the upcoming auction tomorrow at Christie's I picked the following beautiful timepieces:

This beautiful and super rare minute repeating Haas Neveux & company timepiece was made in the 1930's at the end of the existence of Haas Neveux & Cie caused by the great Depression. It is a platinum case with Breguet numerals. Lot N°315, Estimated 30 000 $ - 50 000 $.

This is my favorite, a Patek Philippe 565 in stainless steel with Tiffany & Co. signature. If I had the money, I'd go for this one. Lot N°408, Estimated 30 000 $ - 50 000 $.

This yellow gold Patek Philippe 565 was purchased by legendary collector Henry Graves Jr. just short before of his death in 1951 (1868-1953). Lot N°294, Estimated 40 000 $ - 60 000 $.

The legendary Patek Philippe 1526 made from 1940 - 1952. This one is cased in yellow gold, made in 1949 and accompanied by presentation Box, pouch and outer packing. Lot N° 104, Estimated 60 000 $ - 80 000 $.

NEW: Benzinger Subskription VIII reverse

The newly introduced Subskription VIII reverse by Jochen Benzinger comes in a different design with the hours and minutes decentered towards 3 o'clock and the XII hour is marked in red. The base movement is a Unitas 6497 and rebuild in-house to get the decentered hours and minutes. The small seconds at 9 o'clock are opened which gives you a look at the beautifully hand-finished movement.

The dial is completely hand-guilloché and does wear the original Breguet frost, which is a highly complicated treatment that is not used these days anymore and was invented by Abraham Louis Breguet to protect the Sterling silver.

The movement is completely hand-guilloché, hand-engraved and hand-skeletonized. The main plate comes with a platinum blue finish and the "pont de barillet", the "pont du train de rouage" and the balance coq do come with a rose gold / rhodié finish. The roue the couronne and the rochet are hand skeletonized and flame blued the same as the screws.

The watch fits perfectly on the wrist with its 42mm in diameter.

As for every timepiece made by Jochen Benzinger, there is a huge amount of hours of craftsmanship to finish a timepiece. To give you an idea, I recommend you to read my article about the way of a unique timepiece by Benzinger and to have a look at his video:

François Paul Journe, Patek Philippe and Rolex @ Christie's November 27

Here are my picks for the upcoming auction at Christie's on November 27:

I will start with the François Paul Journe - tourbillon anniversaire. A re-interpretation of his first pocket watch which he made in 1983. This timepiece was a limit series of only 99 pieces and is for me personally my favorite watch by François Paul Journe. Lot N°2703, Estimated 50 000 $ - 62 000 $.

Rolex military Submariner in perfect condition accompanied by a letter from Rolex confirming that this timepiece was sold to the British Royal Navy. Lot N°2543, Estimated 120 000 $ - 180 000 $.

This Patek Philippe 565 is the only one known combining a stainless steel case with black dial and steel Breguet numerals. Lot N°2513, Estimated 13 000 $ - 19 000 $.

Until today there are only 8 examples of the Patek Philippe 1579 in stainless steel known! Most of them were recased later then the 1940's during servicing. The present watch is an example of these recased timepieces and this one was done in 1967. Lot N°2522, Estimated 200 000 $ - 300 000 $.

I invite you as well to have a look at my vintage corner on my website of my boutique, some rare and beautiful timepieces are waiting there!

All the best.

Benzinger ONE - Patek Philippe 1917, unique timepiece

For the Benzinger ONE collection, Jochen Benzinger does use always rare vintage movements such as from Vacheron & Constantin, Patek Philippe, Rolex, ... and makes the finissage of the movement in the legendary Benzinger style (hand-guilloché, hand-engraving and hand-skeletonization).  For this unique and outstanding beautiful timepiece Jochen Benzinger does use a rare movement made by Patek Philippe in ca. 1917 and was sold to Henry J. Howe in New York at that time.

By looking closer to the details of this unique timepiece, you will discover the Patek Philippe cross at 6 o'clock and at 9 o'clock in the small seconds which is an hommage to this great manufactory.

The details of the movement are extraordinary. Jochen Benzinger did leave the beautifully shapped bridges in its original form and made the finissage in a beautiful sun-guilloché by hand. The balance cock is hand-engraved and all screws are flame blued. The original engravings by Patek Philippe are rose gold plated with black font to highlight it from the bridges.

The watch perfectly fits on the wrist with its 42mm in diameter and looks really breathtaking when wearing it!

For requests and orders, I warmly invite you to send me an e-mail on the following address: info@watchcollector.lu

You can subscribe as well on my homepage, to receive for the next Benzinger ONE timepiece exclusively the photos and details before the watch will be published officially! http://www.watchcollector.lu/#!benzinger-one/c1wfr

This is a unique timepiece, the first is first!

All the best.
