He started his career in the mid 1970s with his own auction house, which still exists today. After the passing of his very good friends Derek Pratt and Peter Baumberger he took over the control of Urban Jürgensen. He dedicated way over a decade in historical research for his book "Le Cadran".
Congratulations, my best friend and mentor Helmut for the Prix Gaïa for your life's work. Thank you for all these years we have known us now, the almost daily telephone calls, the road trips to Geneva, everything that I could have learned from you, the watches and life.
