Jean-Pierre Hagmann & Svend Andersen

 Dear watch aficionado.

JHP - Jean-Pierre Hagmann and Svend Andersen, two of the greatest in the watch world. When there is a watch made by Svend and with the case stamped JHP made by Jean-Pierre, then this watch should certainly be considered as an absolute grail timepiece!

Svend Andersen, one of the founding members of the AHCI and one of the greatest watchmakers. Jean-Pierre Hagmann, one of the greatest watch case makers who has made some of the most legendary cases for Patek Philippe like the 3974, 3979, 5016, Star Calibre. They were both very closely associated with the watchmaking and were both very close friends. Unfortunately, Jean-Pierre passed away on March 7th 2025. For me, it was the greatest honour to have known Jean-Pierre not only as the best casemaker but the more as an incredible kind-hearted person and a friend. I hope that Svend will be still there for a long time, to see more watches to come, created within his era and to be able to spend more time at the legendary dinners in Geneva, to listen to all the old stories and histories.

It is from the past that we should learn for the present and future, so we should never forget about great persons like Jean-Pierre and Svend and, if we have the possibility to spend time with them, to listen to every single word they tell!
