Lange 101.001

Closed caseback, early 111xxx serial

Ur-Lange 1, Full Set

The early Ur-Lange 1 timepieces  with closed casebacks are much sought after by collectors nowadays. The present example is a rarely seen 101.001 in yellow gold with an early 111xxx serial. In combination with the full set, this example is a really nice collectors’ timepiece.

​

The watch itself is in nice condition. The case might be unpolished and shows that it was carefully worn over the last 30 years with only minor evidence of wear.

The Ur-Lange 1 is a timeless watch and still today you can see the design details in the modern Lange timepieces. The 101.001 was one of the four new models presented in 1994 which can be seen on that famous photo with Dr. Walter Lange, Günter Blümlein and Hartmut Knothe. If I am not mistaken, it was the favorite timepiece of Dr. Walter Lange too.

This example is a great addition for every high class collector who is looking for one of the most legendary timepieces made by Lange in addition that this one is from the historical rebirth of Lange in 1994.
