In 2008 IWC introduced the limited Portugieser Tourbillon Mystère Squelette. This movement was completely finished (hand-guilloché, hand-skeletonized, hand-engraved) by JOCHEN BENZINGER!
This timepiece was limited to 50 pieces in red gold, white gold and platinum and they only produced about 120 pieces, because they had to stop the production because of the crisis at that time. Now Jochen Benzinger is about to finish one, so that this will be the only one Tourbillon Mystère in this superbe, outstanding beautiful combination! The pictures below show you the first design of the dial and the finished dial.
The more Jochen produced an exclusive hand-made case in red gold with a hand-guilloché bezel! This case makes this watch even more special and super rare!
On Friday the 24th October I was visiting Jochen Benzinger and he did present me this outstanding, unique, beautiful and super rare timepiece, Benzinger - IWC Tourbillon Mystère. As I said already, it is the only one tourbillon mystère existing on earth in this exclusive combination!
The dial comes with a beautiful hand-guilloché (Korn) finish and does wear the original Breguet frost finish. When taking a closer look to the power reserve indication at 3/4 o'clock, you will recognize the scale under the index 1-7 which turns from blue to red when the power goes down! With the opening at 9 o'clock, small seconds, you have a look at the movement, the train de rouage. And then there is the opening at 12 o'clock for the tourbillon. This dial draws the attention perfectly to the tourbillon!
The movement is completely hand finished and is an absolutely exclusiveness because this is the only movement that exists in this combination of finissage!
The watch wears perfectly with its 44mm hand-made, rose gold, case.
